Emergency personnel responded about 11:20 a.m. Monday to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Route 3 at KK Road south of Waterloo.

Route 3 was limited to one lane of traffic as responders handled the incident.

Responding agencies included the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, Waterloo Fire Department and Monroe County EMS.

The WFD cleared the crash scene at about 12:30 p.m.

The MCSD said a 2012 Ford Focus driven by a 17-year-old male was traveling west on KK Road and pulled out in front of a 2001 GMC Sierra driven by Chad A. Knop, 48, of Steeleville, which was traveling on Route 3. The GMC rolled multiple times into a ditch.

Knop and a passenger in his vehicle, 51-year-old Stephanie K. Knop of Steeleville, were both transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County.

The 17-year-old declined medical transport. A 14-year-old passenger in his car also declined transport.
