Columbia police, fire and ambulance personnel responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Route 3 at the intersection with South Main Street/Gall Road shortly after 1 p.m. Monday. Police said a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Dusty Kaesberg, 31, of Steeleville, was traveling north on Route 3 and turned left at the light into the path of a 2013 Dodge Ram driven by Michael Coyle, 56, of Waterloo, which was traveling south on Route 3 and had the green light.

An Ameren power pole was knocked over during the crash, resulting in live wires dangling low over Gall Road. A 2015 Ford Escape driven by Nancy Cripe was stopped at the light on Gall Road and sustained damage due to debris from the crash.

Kaesberg was transported to Red Bud Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. She was cited for failure to yield turning left.
