Mon-Clair League season kicks off May 18

Mon-Clair League baseball action kicks off this Sunday with doubleheaders being played throughout the area.

The Waterloo Millers won their 24th playoff championship with a victory over the St. Louis Spikes last August.

Waterloo (17-7 last year) is in the Monroe Division along with the Millstadt VFW (19-9), Valmeyer Lakers (10-14), Belleville Rockies (13-11) and Columbia Saints (4-20).

A new team, the O’Fallon Blaze, has been added to the St. Clair Division this summer and will play home games on the SWIC-Belleville baseball field.

There are now 10 total teams in the league.

Doubleheaders to be played this Sunday, starting at 1:30 p.m., include Waterloo hosting the St. Louis Spikes at SPPS Field, Valmeyer hosting the Fairview Heights Redbirds at Borsch Park, Columbia hosting the Edwardsville Mavericks at Kleinschmidt Field, and Millstadt hosting the St. Louis Printers at Mueth Field.
