Millers win another Monroe Division crown
The Waterloo Millers are 2015 Monroe Division Champions of the Mon-Clair Baseball League. That’s a sentence which sounds very familiar.
This past weekend, the Waterloo Millers went 3-1 to finish the regular season at 20-6 and win the Monroe Division championship for the 41st time in team history. The Mon-Clair League is in its 49th season.
This is the second year in a row the Millers won the division.
“That’s something I’m very proud of,” Millers manager Vern Moehrs said.
The Millers have found success all season long from catcher Justin Dunning.
“We’ve all played very well,” Moehrs said. “But, the one person that stood out a lot, he didn’t do a lot of hitting, he got a couple hits (this weekend), but our catcher Justin Dunning did a fine job of handling our pitching staff all season and continuously through the year. He did an outstanding job.”
