Maurice R. “Mo” Koesterer Jr., 54, of Waterloo, died July 3, 2016, in St. Louis.
He was born July 23, 1961, in Red Bud, son of Maurice and Lois Koesterer Sr.
Maurice lived his life with strength and faithfulness to his wife, children, family and friends. He always showed enthusiasm and passion to help anyone in need. He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo.
Maurice was a 1979 graduate of Gibault Catholic High School and he attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He was a remarkable Illinois and Missouri real estate agent.
Maurice was a devoted husband to Nancy Koesterer (nee Menke) for 31 years; loving and caring father of Lyndsay A. Koesterer (Tony Ahrens), and Kati M. Koesterer (Austin Gotto); dearest son of Maurice and Lois Koesterer Sr.; cherished brother to Joseph M. Koesterer, Mary C. (Dean) Hirsch, Thomas G. (Susan) Koesterer, and William M. (Tonya) Koesterer; son-in-law of Carol S. Redpath; and a dear brother-in-law to Bonnie S. (Dave) Dillenberger, and Pam L. (Mike) Lloyd. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dr. Joseph A. and Loretta M. Werth, and Edwin and Vera Koesterer; and father-in-law Alvin Menke.
Visitation is July 6, from 3 to 8 p.m., and July 7, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated July 7, at 10 a.m., at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Waterloo, Father Osang Idagbo C.M. officiating.
Interment will follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo.
As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic School, Waterloo.
