Marvin Otis Woods | Obituary
Marvin Otis Woods, 57, of Davis, Calif., died Sept. 7, 2015.
He was born June 7, 1958, son of Earl Franklin Woods and Barbara Woods (nee Starnes) in Gary, Ind.; his father preceded him in death.
He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle, and he is survived by those who love him and mourn his loss, including his wife, Jessica Woods (nee Steingrubey) and daughter Ruby Woods, of Davis, Calif.; his mother, Barbara Woods, of Illinois; brothers Steven (Terri) Woods of Florida, and Kenneth (Kathy) Woods of Arizona; and sisters Deborah (Bob) Heal of Illinois, and Susan (Harry) Steingrubey of Illinois.
He is also survived by his father- and mother-in-law Harry and Maxine Steingrubey; brothers-in-law David Steingrubey and Harold Steingrubey; sisters-in-law Katherine (Jim) Vance, and Rose (Edwin) Krebes; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins to grieve him.
Marvin was a senior engineering geologist for the state of California. He found joy in the beauty of nature through traveling, hiking and camping. He enjoyed DIY projects around the house, took pleasure in classic movies and television shows, and listening to and playing music. He particularly enjoyed the opportunity to play guitar and sing with his brothers and sisters. “No, the circle won’t be broken.”
His one-of-a-kind laughter still echoes in many a place, and within our hearts, always.
