Marvin D. Green | Obituary
Marvin D. Green, 76, of Cahokia, died, June 26, 2015, at his residence.
He was born July 18, 1938, in Tuscumbia, Mo., son of the late Elmer Francis and Tina Arizona Green (nee Barton).
Mr. Green was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. During his life he was a self-employed contractor, a foreman for the railroad at Dome Railways in Wood River, and later he was a thoroughbred racehorse trainer for several years
Surviving are his wife, Constance Green (nee Niederhoffer); his children, John (Renae) Green of Washington, Okla., Michelle (Thomas) Specht of Cincinnati, Ohio, Deno Bradley Green of Cahokia, and Sarah (Robert) Williams of Troy; two sisters, Vivian (Ronald) Gushwa of Marion, Ohio, and Marilyn (Bob) Mauzy of Holt Summit, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Kaylee, Garrett, Jordan, Haley, Lexie, Landon, Bryan and Joshua. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Lloyd, David, Floyd, Donald and Dewey Green; and sisters Mildred Mitchell and Mable Green.
Visitation and funeral services were June 28, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia.
Graveside services were June 29, at Capps Cemetery, Capps, Mo.
