Marvin A. Denison | Obituary

Marvin “Marv” A. Denison, 70, of Columbia, died Aug. 21, 2024, at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Mo.

Marv grew up in Huron, S.D., and later moved to Columbia. He worked as a machinist for Monsanto in Creve Coeur, Mo., until his retirement.  

He was also a skilled carpenter and built their family home while still working full time. Marv, along with his wife Brenda loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with family and friends over the years.

He enjoyed being outdoors and loved to hunt, fish and spend time with family and friends. Marv will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving are his wife Brenda Denison (nee Suchman), whom he married on Aug. 2, 1991; children Travis (Mandy) and Drew (Jenny) Denison and Ryan Hamilton; brother Jerry (Bonnie) Denison; brother-in-law Randy (Beth) Suchman; grandchildren Juliana, Sydney, Ava, Logan, Triston, Lacey (Michael), Landon, Gabby, Isabelle (Landon), Bryce, Hayven and Haylee; great-grandchild Gabriel; nieces; and nephews. He was also a dear cousin and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Lorraine (nee Eggleston, Denison); and his father and mother-in-law Gabe and Vivian Suchman.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 31 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia.  

A memorial service will follow at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Reid officiating.  

In following Mr. Denison’s wishes, a private cremation was held.

Memorial for Marv may be made to either Stray Rescue of St. Louis or Songs4Soldiers.
