Market Street project begins March 18

As announced on digital sign boards, the Illinois Department of Transportation said it will begin a resurfacing project on Market Street from Bradford Lane south to Route 156 in Waterloo on Monday morning, March 18.

IDOT said there will first be pavement patching operations that will last approximately two weeks, weather permitting. Shortly after pavement patching, ADA ramp improvements will take place and then resurfacing operations will begin.

One lane of traffic will remain open with the help of flaggers, IDOT said.

The $2.2 million project, which consists of pavement patching, ADA improvements and resurfacing, is expected to be completed in September.

IDOT said motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure.
