Valmeyer man dies following early Sunday crash

A 21-year-old Valmeyer man was pronounced dead Sunday evening from injuries sustained in a rollover crash that occurred early Sunday morning.

Jordon Lee Anderson was airlifted by Survival Flight medical helicopter to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for treatment of serious injuries sustained when the vehicle he was driving crashed about 12:10 a.m. Sunday on Route 156 on the hill between old and new Valmeyer.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, Monroe County EMS and Valmeyer Fire Department responded to the crash.

The St. Louis Medical Examiner’s Office pronounced Anderson deceased on Sunday evening, the sheriff’s department told the Republic-Times on Monday.

Anderson worked for Owen Tuckpointing Company in St. Louis.

He is survived by parents Gordon Anderson Sr. and Joan Anderson, siblings Tanya Medley, Shelby Sheeley and Gordon Anderson Jr., grandmother Virgie Anderson and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will take place at a later date. Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo is in charge of arrangements.
