Makensy Umscheid

This week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo High School golfer Makensy Umscheid.

The senior placed third overall in the regional at Campbell Hill and seventh overall at the sectional in Salem to advance to the IHSA girls golf state tournament held Oct. 13-14 at Red Tail Run in Decatur.

Andrea is a graduate of Gibault High School and the University of Missouri School of Journalism, the University of Missouri Harry S Truman School of Public Affairs and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville College of Education. She lives in Columbia with her husband and their twin toddler sons.
