Lindhorst makes national tourney

Sam Lindhorst helps cut down the net after leading Lincoln Land with 16 points in the Region 24 title game victory on Sunday. 

Waterloo High School graduate Sam Lindhorst is a key contributor on a Lincoln Land Community College women’s basketball squad that advanced to the NJCAA Division II National Championships taking place this coming Monday in Joplin, Mo.

The Loggers advanced to the national tourney by virtue of a 70-50 victory at home Sunday over top-seeded Parkland College in the Region 24 Championship.

Lincoln Land (27-6) was led in scoring by Lindhorst with 16 points in the title game. 

Lindhorst, a freshman guard for the Loggers, has played in all 33 games this season. She’s averaging 10.7 points, four assists and 2.6 steals per game. 

Lindhorst is the all-time career leader in both assists and steals for the WHS girls basketball program.
