The Columbia Fire Department responded along with other agencies to a large tree that fell on a portion of Route 3 at Mark Drive in Columbia about 12:20 p.m. Thursday.

Police also responded to assist with traffic control and crews worked to remove the large tree from the roadway. The road was reopened to traffic at about 12:45 p.m.

A thunderstorm rolled through the region late Thursday morning.
