Gregory and Diane Backes of Maeystown announce the birth of their daughter, Katherine Emma Backes.

She was born March 19, 2018, at 1:20 p.m., at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis. She weighed 8 pounds, and was 20.25 inches long.

Her maternal grandparents are Donald and Marcia Stroh of Waterloo. Paternal grandparents are Timothy and Terri Backes of Auburn.

Her great-grandparents are Wesley and Patricia Balter of Overland Park, Kansas.
