The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Columbia High School basketball player Jonathan Holmes. He was named MVP of the Freeburg Holiday Tournament, scoring 65 points over four games. Holmes, a junior, led the way Tuesday night with 18 points as the Eagles (10-3) defeated Carlyle. He leads the team in scoring at 15 points per game.
