Jerome J. Shields, 81, of Waterloo, died April 8, 2015, in Maryville.

He was born Sept. 4, 1933, in Bushy Prairie, son of the late Albert and Rose Shields (nee Goodman).

He was married to Joann M. Shields (nee Ahne).

Mr. Shields was a laborer with Local 196.

Survivors include his wife; children Lisa Shields (Robert Conaway), Craig Shields and Bruce Shields; grandchildren Alicia, Adam and Aaron Shields, Sierra Shields, Garrison, Ethan and Collin Shields, and Devin and Keegan Conaway; great-grandchild Brayden Conaway; siblings Joyce (Vernon) Koester, Albert Shields and Leon (Donna) Shields; and sisters-in-law Charlotte Shields and Thelma Shields.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons Mark J. Shields and Anthony A. Shields, and brothers Raymond Cletus and Emmett Shields.

Visitation is Sunday, April 12, form 4 to 8 p.m., at Monday, April 13, from 8 to 9:15 a.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Madonnaville, Father Osang Idagbo officiating.

Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
