Jennie Lucille Holecek | Obituary

Jennie Lucille Holecek (nee Qualls), 86, of Waterloo, died Oct. 22, 2015, in Waterloo.

She was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Murphysboro.

Jennie was for the most part, a wife and mother. She worked for School District 175 in Belleville and for Most Precious Blood School in Denver, Colo.

Jennie lived in Ava, Dowell, DuQuoin, Columbia, Belleville, and Galesburg, all in Illinois. She moved to Denver, Colo., in 1976 and then back to Waterloo in 1993. She spent most of her time with family and friends and volunteering at Monroe County Nursing Home and Oak Hill in Waterloo.

She is survived by her children Roger W. (Deborah) King, Gary D. (Jocelyn H.) King and Robert M. (Molly) Holecek; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers Marge Mosbacher, Clarence Edward (Jean) Qualls, Ann (Leonard) Riggs, Fay (Homer) Froemling and James D. (Margaret) Qualls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Eugene and Margaret Qualls (nee Ward); first husband, Robert J. King; second husband, Robert Holecek; sister Barbara J. Qualls; and brother-in-law Earl Mosbacher.

A memorial visitation was Oct. 25, at Quernheim Funeral Home.

Memorial service followed at the funeral home, with Pastor Will Hesterberg officiating.
