Janet L. Smith | Obituary

Janet L. Smith, nee Horn, 71, of St. Louis, died May 4, 2014 in Columbia, Mo.

She was born Sept. 21, 1942 in Waterloo and graduated from Waterloo High School in 1960.

She lived in the surrounding St. Louis area most of her life.

Surviving are her mother, Lorine C. Horn, nee Nobbe, of Waterloo; husband of 52 years, Don Smith of Williamsburg, Mo.; children Kay (Gary) Smith of Medera, Calif. and Terry (Shelia) Smith of Bowling Green, Mo.; grandchildren Jesse (Karien) Conyors of Medera, Calif. and Christina (Richard) Smith of House Springs, Mo.; sister Sharon (Bob) Osterhage of Waterloo; brother Don (Sandi) Horn of Lafayette, La.; beloved dogs Jake and Taz; aunt Esther (Vernon) Brandt of Waterloo; uncle Wilbert (Virginnia) Horn of Waterloo; niece Angie (Billy) Onder of St. Louis and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

She was cremated and interred in Troy, Mo. on May 7.

Tammy Taylor

Tammy is an award-winning Graphic Artist for the Republic-Times. She has worked at the newspaper for almost 15 years, while her and her husband Norman, of 34 years, are owners of Sunderman's Garage in Columbia. She enjoys photography and her five grandchildren.
