James S. “Jim” Meyer
James S. “Jim” Meyer, 63, of Waterloo, died May 27, 2015, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Nov. 24, 1951, in St. Louis, son of the late Earl and Delores Meyer (nee Fehrt).

Mr. Meyer was employed by Cahokia School District 187 as the technology supervisor.

He was an avid musician and song writer.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Carolyn J. Meyer (nee Gisher); his son James S. (Karen) Meyer of San Diego, Calif., his siblings Carolyn Lively of South St. Louis County, Kathryn (Russell) Griffith of Columbia, Jonathan G. Meyer of Columbia, Mary (Earl) Kloos of Moscow Mills, Mo., and Dorothy (Dave) Marshall of South St. Louis County; and grandchildren Christopher, Mollie, Sophia and Lara. He was also a dear, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend to all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy J. Allford, and  brother Christopher Meyer.

Visitation was May 31, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, and June 1, at First Baptist Church in Columbia.

Funeral services were June 1, at the church, Pastor Jonathan Peters officiating.

Private cremation followed.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

She lives in Columbia with her husband and their twin toddler sons.
