James K. Hern, 75, of Waterloo, died Nov. 25, 2013, in Waterloo.

He was born June 8, 1938, in St. Louis, son of the late Harry W. and Thelma E. Hern (nee Jackson).

He was married to Linda Hern (nee Lupton); she survives him.

Mr. Hern was a member of Your Friends in Christ Bible Study Group.

Survivors include his wife; children Kenneth Hern, Scott Hern, and Tiffany (Michael) Chance; numerous grandchildren; sisters Iris (Dillard) Munsell, and Cheryl (James) Jokerst; and uncle Vernon (Jane) Hern; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Harry Richard Hern and sister-in-law Jackie Hern (nee Bazzel).

Visitation is Nov. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo, Pastor Dillard Munsell officiating.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Fults.
