The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Columbia High School basketball player Jackson Holmes. The younger brother of past CHS hoops greats Jonny and Jordan Holmes, Jackson is averaging 19 points, nearly eight rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game in the early going for the Eagles (3-1). The 6-foot-4 junior was named to the all-tournament team of the Mascoutah Tip-Off Classic, which concluded Friday.
