The female passenger of a motorcycle sustained massive head trauma during a four-vehicle crash on I-255 northbound just north of Dupo in St. Clair County on July 4.

Illinois State Police said two tractor-trailers, an SUV and a motorcycle were involved in the crash, which occurred shortly before 5 p.m.

Multiple lanes of I-255 were closed for several hours as ISP conducted accident reconstruction. The crash remains under investigation.
