The Illinois Department of Transportation announced an intermittent shoulder closure will be encountered on northbound and southbound I-255 south of Exit 9 near Dupo beginning Monday, Aug. 26, at 7 a.m. through Monday, Sept. 9, at 4 p.m., weather permitting.

The right shoulder will be closed between mile markers 7 and 8. All entrance and exit ramps will remain open.

IDOT said these restrictions are needed to complete drainage repair work. IDOT forces will make the needed improvements, with full access to be restored as soon as possible.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area, IDOT said.
