The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Thursday that lane restrictions will be encountered on northbound I-255 milemarker 14.6 south of Exit 15 (Mousette Lane) in St. Clair County beginning this Friday, Feb. 2, at 9 a.m., weather permitting.

The median shoulder and two left northbound lanes will be closed to allow Electrico to remove and replace a damaged highway lighting pole. The right northbound lane will remain open, IDOT said.

All lanes are expected to reopen by 3 p.m. Friday.

IDOT said drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
