The Maeystown Fire Department, Monroe County EMS and Monroe County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of 4200 Heller Drive in Fults about 4 p.m. Friday after a male hunter fell approximately 20 feet from a deer stand. He was reported to be conscious and breathing at the scene.

The Valmeyer Fire Department was requested for mutual aid, providing the use of its ATV.

The hunter was believed to have sustained a broken sternum in the fall, but injuries were not considered life-threatening.
