Waterloo High School golfer Haley Faus is this week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week.

The sophomore was the second lowest scorer behind Columbia’s Allie Leingang (35), carding a 40 to help lead the Bulldogs to the 180-190 rival victory Wednesday.

Faus was the overall low scorer with a 39 during the team’s Sept. 11 win at Okawville, and was Waterloo’s low scorer with a 40 during the team’s win over Belleville East and Granite City on Sept. 17. She has been the team’s low scorer in every match so far this season but one and has a 40.75 average through nine-holes in the team’s eight matches.

The WHS girls golf team is now 16-3 on the season.

Good job Haley, keep up the good work!
