The Republic-Times Team of the Week is the Gibault Catholic High School soccer team. The defending state champions began their 2014 season with two impressive wins this week — 6-0 over Mascoutah on Monday and 2-0 over Freeburg on Tuesday. Ben Mueth, Andrew Reinholz and Ethan Shields were the scoring leaders in the two wins.

The Hawks will play Marion Friday night in their quest to win a fourth straight Metro Cup title.
