The Republic-Times Team of the Week is the Gibault Catholic High School boys basketball squad coached by Dennis Rueter. The Hawks (20-14) defeated Elkville, Trico and New Athens last week to capture a third straight Class 1A regional championship. Pictured is the team following Friday’s regional title victory at Trico High School. The defending Class 1A champions have gone 15-4 since a 5-10 start to the 2023-24 season.
