Gibault bowling looks to veterans
High school bowlers in the area are no longer on pins and needles waiting for the season to start.
Although, they will be looking to knock down plenty of bowling pins this season.
For the area teams, it looks like there will be strong seasons ahead.
The Hawks will return experience on the boys team and look for experience on the girls team.
The girls return a couple of bowlers, while bringing in new faces.
“I have two bowlers that have bowled before and are back this year,” coach Tom Fanara said. “That’s Taylor Hoylman and Katie Whitworth. The rest of the team is new. We only have a varsity team this year and not a JV team.”
The team has six bowlers overall.

The boys team will be strong, returning multiple bowlers from a year ago.
“They’ve all bowled in the past,” Fanara said. “Connor Meehan, John Harbaugh, Matt Wolf and Riley Menard — he’s got the least experience but doing well. We’re off to a pretty good start this year, their averages are climbing.”
They have state aspirations.
“I do expect them to have a great year,” Fanara said. “We’re concentrating on filling the frames with good marks and not leaving open frames. I expect them to have a pretty good year. Our goal is to make the state competition as a team, but if we don’t do that I think we have a good opportunity for individuals to advance.”
