George H. Heise | Obituary

George H. Heise, 88, of Waterloo, died Jan. 16, 2015 in Waterloo.

He was born Sept. 19, 1926 in Waterloo, son of the late George A. and Louis J. Heise, nee Schroeder.

George was the retired owner of Heise’s Main Street Tavern, life member of Monroe County Retail Liquor Association, life member of Illinois Retail Liquor Association, life member and past president of the Waterloo Sportsman’s Club, life member and past president of the Maeystown Sportsman’s Club, and former member of the Hecker Sportsman’s Club.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Tim Williams; daughter-in-law Fay Ross; grandchildren Julie (Jay) Ross-Whitlock, Jason (Jill) Crouch, Ryan (Dawn) Crouch; great-grandchildren Logan and Rigby George Whitlock, Bryanna and Ashlyn Crouch, along with daughter Sharon Lutz, son Fred Heise, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Charlotte Heise, son Bernie Ross, sister Emma Roth, brothers Roy, Harry and Elmer Heise.

Visitation will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Jan. 20 and 8 to 10 a.m. Jan. 21 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Jan. 21 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.
