Gene B. Huebner | Obituary

Gene B. Huebner, 81, of Waterloo, died Dec. 8, 2012, in Red Bud.

He was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Waterloo, son of the late William and Mathilda Huebner (nee Weber).

He was married to Yvonne Lee Huebner (nee Chilton) for 50 years; she preceded him in death.

Huebner was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Cement Masons Local 90 of Troy, a lifelong member of Prairie du Rocher Saddle Club, faithful employee of RCS Construction, lover of the great outdoors with special fondness and memory of his five driven trips to Alaska.

He was a lifelong horseman with some of the finest cowboys to ever ride, an avid poker player but excellent saver of money, dearly loved by his kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and most of all his wife of 50 years, Yvonne.

Survivors include his children Julie (Dylane) Doerr, Becky (Ed) Buckley, Jenny (Drew) Denison, Eugene P. Huebner (fiancée Tara Seidel) and Jessica (Travis) Ezzell; grandchildren Elisha, Dustin, Gwen, Megan, Melissa, Lacey, Triston, Logan, Emily, Ben and Jacob; great-grandchildren Lilly, Jack and Nolan; sister Carol Frey; brothers Glenn (Cookie) Huebner, and Danny Huebner; sister-in-law Marlene Huebner; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Steve and Mary Kay (Chilton) Gabel and Kay Chilton.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sons Jesse and Charles Ben Huebner; brothers William, Robert and Paul Huebner; sister Betty Miller; and brothers-in-law Dick Chilton, Dave Miller and Paul Frey.

Visitation and funeral services were Dec. 11-12, at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Interment followed at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Madonnaville.
