The Columbia Volunteer Fire Department responded about 11:30 a.m. Sunday to a fire reported in an attached garage of a residence at 160 Gall Road.

Columbia police and Monroe County EMS provided assistance at the scene.

Initial reports indicate that the fire was knocked down quickly with minimal damage to the garage.

A space heater was apparently tipped over inside the garage, causing a couple of boxes to catch on fire, Columbia Fire Chief Mike Roediger said.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
