Fire in garage near Hecker

The Hecker Fire Department responded at 7 p.m. Tuesday to a fire inside a garage attached to a residence in the 8500 block of Nike Road.
The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire, which was quickly contained to a small trash can inside the garage.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department assisted in responding to the scene.
