The Waterloo Fire Department responded shortly after 4:35 p.m. Friday to a large field fire reported in the area of Route 3 and Crook Road south of Waterloo.

The fire was well off the roadway and not easily accessible by large fire trucks. The Red Bud Fire Department was requested for use of its brush truck.
