During the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays, officers from the Columbia Police Department will be participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” traffic safety campaigns.

This means extra Columbia police officers will be patrolling late at night, looking for impaired drivers and safety belt violations. The safety campaign runs from Dec. 20 to Jan. 5.

These patrols are funded 100 percent by the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Traffic Safety Division.
