Memorial Day in Waterloo will be commemorated with a Facebook video to be premiered May 25 on the City of Waterloo Facebook page. The video will feature introductions from Waterloo Mayor Tom Smith, Waterloo VFW Commander John Fuller and Waterloo American Legion Commander Roy J. May. The video will also feature State Sen. Paul Schimpf, commentary by Vietnam War veteran Al “Butch” Waters, Korean War veteran Lee Trost, World War II veteran Harold Hirstein and U.S. Marine Eli Snodgrass. Gravesites of soldiers from various wars will be shown during the playing of the “Star Spangled Banner.” Becky Wilson will perform “God Bless America” and the video will conclude with Russel Wolf playing “Taps.”
