Monroe Actors Stage Company is sponsoring a benefit trivia night for the family of fallen officer James “Mitch” Ellis this Saturday, Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Waterloo VFW.
The cost is $10 per person or $80 per table of eight. There will also be a silent auction, 50/50 and other games throughout the night. All proceeds from the event will be given to the Ellis family.
Ellis, a Hecker resident, died in a traffic accident this past fall on his way home from his shift as an officer with the St. Louis County Police Department. He leaves behind his wife Nicole and five children, ages 10-18. The Ellis children are active in the MASC theatre program.
