Maeystown holiday festivies

Although the official Maeystown Old-Fashioned Christmas Festival cannot be celebrated as normal due to COVID restrictions, the village offers holiday festivities this and next weekend. Hammered dulcimer music will be performed by Carl Seavers and Jim Abbott in the Preservation Society Mill from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday. Sally Durrer will demonstrate how to make German paper star ornaments. The Victorian Sleigh will be on display outside the mill and will be available for Christmas photos. All the businesses will be open and offering specials or highlighting various items or foods. The lighting of the village Weihnachtsbaum will be Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. The Band Room Brass will be playing Christmas music from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 12 while strolling through the village. The sleigh will be available for pictures. All businesses will be open during regular business hours on each Saturday and Sunday before Christmas.
