Maeystown apple butter preparation will be Sept. 24-25 ahead of the 40th annual Maeystown Oktoberfest. A group will be on hand to peel and cut up apples inside the Maeystown Preservation Society Mill and outside under open tents Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Help is also needed Sept. 25 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. to stir the apple butter in kettles over open fires.
