Fourth of July roundup

Columbia’s July 4 Celebration will be held at American Legion Post 581, 375 E. Locus Street. Food will be ready at 11 a.m. Bingo begins at noon. A washers tournament starts at 1:30 p.m. with a kloepper tournament at 4 p.m. Of course, there will be fireworks at dusk.
The City of Columbia 4th of July Bike Parade and activities will be held near Main Street Abbey along Main Street at 10 a.m. and will end at Metter Park. Children are invited to decorate bikes and show off their creations. The parade pedals off near Main Street Abbey.
Dupo’s Fireworks in the Park takes place Tuesday, July 4, at Dupo Community Park, 900 Bluffview Elementary Lane, from 3-9 p.m. There will be kids activities, food and drink and live music, with a fireworks display at dusk. A volleyball tournament begins at 4 p.m. with registration at 3 p.m. The splash pad will also be open. There will also be a special flag ceremony conducted by Boy Scout Troop 668 at 5 p.m. with the National Anthem performed by Page Mushaney.
Millstadt Boy Scout Troop 8622 will be selling pork steaks, bratwursts, hamburgers and hotdogs at the St. James Parish Center, 423 W. Madison Street, July 4 beginning at 11 a.m. The scouts will sell sandwiches and plates with potato salad, baked beans, pasta salad and cole slaw as side options.
