St. John United Church of Christ – New Athens, 301 S. Market Street, will hold a fried chicken dinner at the church May 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until sold out. Carry-out and drive-thru are also available. Cost is $15 for adults and $8 for children 10 and under. The meal includes a fried half chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, slaw and dessert.
