In honor of National Take Your Child to the Library Day, Columbia Public Library, 106 N. Metter Avenue, is hosting an event this Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

In addition to giveaways and crafts, there will be balloon creations, face painting, activity tables, and the chance to meet the Green Crayon from Drew Daywalt’s “Day the Crayons Came Home” book.

Morrison-Talbott Library, 215 Park Street, Waterloo, is also hosting events as part of this occasion.

On Friday, Feb. 2, there’s a stuffed animal sleepover drop-off from 5-7 p.m.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, there’s story time with stuffies at 10 a.m., cupcake wars from 1-3 p.m.,and valentine’s crafts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
