Emma A. Rodenberg | Obituary

Emma A. Rodenberg (nee Schmidt), 95, of Waterloo, died Oct. 1, 2013, in Waterloo.

She was born March 7, 1918, in Fults, daughter of the late Phillip and Barbara Schmidt (nee Hoffmann).

She was married to the late Ervin Rodenberg.

Mrs. Rodenberg was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, St. Joe.

Survivors include her children Orval Rodenberg and Alice (Michael) Eichenseer; grandchildren Gwen (Paul) Wilson, Gary (Caroline) Rodenberg, Amy (Chris) Eschmann, and Kelly (Jeff) Walkenhorst; and great-grandchildren James and Kylie Eschmann, Mason Boatright, Danni Mitchell and William Walkenhorst; along with nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Lynne R. Rodenberg, brother Carl Schmidt and sister Louisa Rodenberg.

Visitation is Oct. 3, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo, and Oct. 4, from 9 to 10 a.m., at Zion United Church of Christ, St. Joe.

Funeral services will be Oct. 4, at 10 a.m., at the church, Pastor Nancy Spier-Lee officiating.

Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery, St. Joe.

Memorials may be made to the church.
