This week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo High School senior softball standout Emelia Modglin. She leads the 14-0 Bulldogs with a .588 average to go along with two home runs, 13 RBIs and 11 runs scored this spring. Modglin went 2-for-2 with a double, home run and three RBIs in her team’s 5-3 win over Dupo last Friday.

Corey is the editor of the Republic-Times. He has worked at the newspaper since 2004, and currently resides in Columbia. He is also the principal singer-songwriter and plays guitar in St. Louis area country-rock band The Trophy Mules.
