Doris Constantine | Obituary
Doris Constantine (nee Langlinais), 90, of Broussard, La., died peacefully on Oct. 19, 2016, with family members by her side.
She was born Oct. 23, 1925, in Broussard, La., daughter of the late Guillaume and Blanche Langlinais.
She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard and a 1943 graduate of Saint Cecilia High School.
Mom was happiest cooking for her loved ones and tending to her flowers and gardens. In the true French Acadian spirit, her door was always open to family and friends; she especially enjoyed just visiting on her porch and taking in the beauty around her and within her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three sons, Kermit Constantine and his wife, Laura, of Waterloo, Craig Constantine and his wife, Beckie, of Columbus, Ohio, and Russell Constantine and his wife, Maureen, of Youngsville, La.; her two daughters, Claudette Lockwood and her husband, Carleton, of Redlands, Calif., and Julia Hutchinson and her husband, Randy, of Lake Charles, La.; her cherished 13 grandchildren, Shelby (Katie) Hutchinson and Seth Hutchinson, Jade Constantine, Chelsea Constantine, Kaitlin Constantine and Madison Constantine, Cameron (Christina) Lockwood, Chauncey Lockwood and Callie Lockwood, Travis Constantine, Ben Constantine and Sam Constantine, and Bailie Constantine; three great-grandsons, Clifton Lockwood, Bobby Hutchinson and Kole Bourque; brother Henry Langlinais of Broussard, La.,; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Joseph Constantine; parents; brothers Ned and Claude Langlinais; and sister Evelyn LeBlanc.
Visitation is Oct. 26, from 5-8:30 p.m. with a French Rosary service at 7 p.m., and Oct. 27, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., at Delhomme Funeral Home, Broussard, La.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Oct. 27, at 2 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Wounded Warriors Project or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
