Dominic A. DeBonis | Obituary

Dominic A. DeBonis, 92, died May 5, 2014, at Samuel Stratton VA Medical Center in New York after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Donato DeBonis and Anna Marie DeBonis and husband of the late Elizabeth Crummy DeBonis.

He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and attended Siena College.

Mr. DeBonis was a letter carrier for the Troy Post Office for 41 years, retiring in 1983.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church and a former communicant of the former St. Paul the Apostle Church. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, a member of the Colonie Lodge Of Elks where he was a bartender for many of the events, East Side Seniors and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include children, Paul B. (Mary)  DeBonis of Troy, Jerome R. (Margaret) DeBonis of Waterloo, Diana (Danny) Holman of Stonington, Conn. and Dennis J. (Susan) DeBonis of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; brother, Daniel J. DeBonis of Troy; sister Mary Ryan of Albany, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother, Michael P. DeBonis.
