The Monroe County coroner and Waterloo police are investigating a death that was reported Monday morning at the Sunset Motel, 206 S. Market Street.

Police requested Monroe County Coroner Bob Hill to respond to the motel shortly after 7:35 a.m., according to a press release issued by the coroner.

The decedent was identified as Ben Baggett, 46, of Benton Ark.. He was pronounced dead  at 8:30 a.m.

The cause of death remains under investigation, Hill said, with an autopsy and routine toxicology tests still to be performed.
