David Maurer

David Maurer, 46, of Waterloo, died April 9, 2016, in Waterloo.

He was born Sept. 1, 1969, in Belleville.

David was an avid reader and movie buff, and he loved watching his children play sports.

He was a 1987 graduate of Waterloo High School and a 1991 graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, and he continued to follow their sports after graduating.

He is survived by his children Danielle “Dani” Maurer, and Carson Maurer; special friend Alice Vance; mother Judy Maurer (nee Niebruegge); brother Eric (Krystal) Maurer; and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Dale Maurer, maternal grandparents Robert and Alvera Niebruegge, and paternal grandparents Ben and Clara Maurer.

Visitation is April 12, from 5 to 8 p.m., and April 13, from 9 to 10 a.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Funeral services will be April 13, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Matt Friz officiating.

Interment will follow at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to the Waterloo Sports Association football program.
