Friday injury crash in Columbia

Columbia police, fire and EMS responded around 3:40 p.m. Friday to Route 3 and North Main Street for a two-vehicle crash.

A maroon 2000 Dodge Stratus driven by Henry Rahe, 91, of Valmeyer, and a silver 2007 Pontiac G5 driven by Mark Riebeling, 64, of Waterloo, collided. North Main onto Sand Bank Road was briefly closed.

Police said the Dodge was traveling south on Route 3 when it attempted to turn onto North Main, colliding with the Pontiac, which was traveling north on Route 3.

Rahe and Riebeling were both transported by Columbia EMS to St. Louis hospitals.

Rahe was cited for failure to yield-turning left.
