Columbia police, fire and EMS responded shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday to a two-vehicle crash on Ghent Road at Quarry Road with road blockage and possible injury. None of those involved in the crash required medical transport.

Police said a 2005 Ford Windstar driven by Karen Sonderman, 50, of Dupo, collided with a 2006 Honda Accord driven by Sofija Pekic, 72, of St. Louis. Pekic complained of a minor injury at the scene. Sonderman was cited for failure to yield.

Just a short time later, Columbia Fire Department personnel were dispatched to a vehicle reportedly on fire on Route 3 just south of Route 158. The vehicle involved was a Chevrolet Impala.
